The founding of SKLashes - cruelty-free

Hey, so if you read my last blog you're probably already aware that I've started a new business venture of selling my own false eyelashes under the name 'SKLashes'. The idea came to me when I was at work creating beautiful and glamorous looks for the women in-front of the camera. For those of you who aren't aware, since I moved up North I have started working at a photography studio. Being specialised in TV & Film, this was a small jump for me but now I enjoy it thoroughly. I still have to make people feel secure and confident while painting their face so they look good on camera.

I noticed how the women who wear false eyelashes for their photographs tend to feel happier with their photo's and thus began the idea of selling my own brand that combined the length and thickness needed for the camera with the design and elegance to also be worn in day to day life.

'SKLashes' kind of just popped into my head after my partner suggested I have a lovely trio of initials that roll off the tongue. I'm certainly happy with the name now and couldn't of thought of a better one.

There are two sizes in 'SKLashes' medium and dense. The medium are more suited for people who aren't used to wearing false eyelashes or much eye makeup. They're not too dramatic but still give your eyes a beautiful doe-eye look. I think they're perfectly suited to a vintage or bridal look.

Our dense lashes are better suited to those of you that have worn lashes before and love that added drama of a full, thick lash to finish off your evening look. I recommend these lashes to people who are looking for a glamorous or boudoir look. My favourite thing about these lashes is that the 'dense' collection have brown lashes scattered between the black, this adds to the thickness without giving the impression you have a sweeping brush sitting on top of your eyelid. (Hopefully you get my reference)

your finishing touch...♡

Both the lashes are synthetic and thus cruelty-free. I see a lot of brands popping up now saying cruelty-free mink eyelashes. Unless those mink's have learned how to speak and give their consent, I really don't see how they can be cruelty-free and yet purchased on demand to sell to a large customer base. Always do your research before purchasing, you as a consumer have a lot of power over big brands. These animals are cute but don't deserve to be tortured for our benefit.
If you'd like to have a look at our range click here and it will redirect you to the online store. My other main concern when coming up with my idea was cost and quality. I believe I have sourced good quality lashes but don't believe you should pay a fortune for the pleasure of getting complimented on your eyes. Therefore my lashes come in a box of 5 pairs for only £6 and FREE UK delivery.

Let me know what you think if you check out SKLashes xoxo
